May 29, 2004:  The Weatherby Storm

Here are just a few lightning shots from the storm that put down the killer tornadoes near Weatherby.   These were taken from Albany, Missouri.    Many of us watched in disbelief as they broadcast live pictures from helicoptors of the  tornadoes moving northward toward our area.  It was dark by the time the storms moved into our area.  These storms were highly electrified as can be seen in the images below.
