2001 Aurora  (November 5)
Albany, Missouri (40 degrees North)

(Notice the observatory  in the foreground above and the moon  just rising and clearing the trees in the background.)

"I observed a fairly remarkable display of Aurora Borealis on this night. I learned of it from reports on the Internet and quickly ran out to see while yelling for mom to do the same. Streamers of deep red were visible for a while but a ghostly green glow hugged the northern horizon throughout most of the night. It did not equal the 1991 display but was good none the less. I took a few shots and these are the best from that night. "
