Rainbow Near Conception, Missouri
My heart leaps up when I behold
A rainbow in the sky:
                                           - William Wordsworth

I saw the rain shafts that produced this rainbow from Albany, Missouri. The rainshafts could be seen from Albany, Missouri.  Notice the bright clear area beyond the rain in the picture above.   I drove westward on Highway 136 and ended up having to travel about 15 miles to break out into the sun for this series of rainbow shots near Conception, Missouri.

I arrived just east of Conception, Missouri where the sun broke out to create the rainbow.  This is a fisheye lens view.  If you look carefully you can almost trace the rainbow clear around.

Two telephoto views of the base of the rainbow.  What I like about the bottom photo are the cows seen at the base.  Couldn't help but get the powerlines in as well.

Moving south I spotted this barn in the distance near the base of the rainbow.

This rainbow was a double rainbow.  Notice that the topography of this area is more "rolling hills" which makes for a great foreground in this composition.
The cows seemed disinterested.

I haven't seen a good rainbow yet that wasn't followed by a spectacular sunset.
This event was no exception.  This photo was taken from Hall Cemetery.
